The Heights, a historic and vibrant area in Houston, is generally bounded by White Oak Bayou to the west, Loop 610 to the north, I-45 to the east, and I-10 to the south. Within this larger area, the Houston Heights Association (HHA) serves as the steward of the historic heart of the Heights, preserving its rich architectural heritage, walkable streets, and strong sense of community.

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance and revitalize civic engagement, the Heights MKT Partnership is reviving the formerly known Heights West Civic Association under a new name: Heights MKT. This renaming pays tribute to the Heights Hike and Bike Trail and the area’s deep-rooted railroad history, where the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad once ran, shaping the neighborhood’s development.
Together, these neighborhoods and civic associations form the Greater Heights Super Neighborhood Council (Super Neighborhood 15), advocating for responsible development, mobility improvements, and community-driven initiatives. Heights MKT is fully enclosed within the Houston Heights Association and remains committed to being part of it, ensuring alignment with the broader vision of historic preservation and urban enhancement that defines the Heights today.
